Our History

Kent Boll started in the family electrical business at an early age. Kent’s father taught him not only his technical skills but also the importance of treating the customer with respect and honesty. One of his dad’s main lessons was, “These people aren’t just our clients—they are our friends and neighbors.” In 2005, Kent branched out from his father’s company and founded Boy’s Electric, LLC. The company’s initial focus was commercial and new construction. However, as Kent worked from home to home, he would hear from the new homeowners the difficulties they were having in finding honest, reliable, and professional service contractors, both for their old homes and their new ones. Kent knew his clients deserved better service than they were receiving, and he knew there was a better way. So, just as his father had taught him, Boy’s Electric, LLC, set out to improve the Twin Cities residential electrical service industry for our customers, friends, and neighbors—one home at a time. In 2017, Boy’s Electric became Boy’s Airtech as we extended our commitment to client satisfaction by expanding to offer heating and cooling services. In 2018, we expanded yet again by adding plumbing services and became the Service Today! family.
